Riebeek West, Riebeek Valley

This rare find in the heart of Riebeek-Wes presents a unique opportunity to own one of the oldest cottages in the Riebeek Valley, fondly known in Afrikaans as the Nagmaalshuisie. Rich in character and history, this heritage-classified home offers timeless charm and authentic period features throughout.

From the moment you step inside, you are welcomed by original wooden floors, Oregon pine beams, shutters, sash windows, and solid Oregon doors—each element telling a story of a bygone era. The spacious living room centres around a beautifully preserved, fully functional original fireplace, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

The home offers three bedrooms and two bathrooms, along with a large living area and a traditional country-style kitchen fitted with an original Dover stove. A separate scullery and laundry area add to the home’s practicality.

Outside, the property continues to impress. The front stoep is the perfect place to relax and take in the breathtaking views, while the garden, positioned to face the mountain, provides a serene and picturesque setting. The classic white exterior, complemented by striking red doors and trellis features, enhances the home’s distinctive appeal.

Situated on a corner stand, the property includes a single secure garage as well as additional off-street parking.

While the home remains in its original condition and would benefit from some tender loving care, it offers exceptional potential. Whether restored to its former glory as a character-filled residence or transformed into a charming Airbnb, this historic gem is an excellent investment opportunity for those with vision and appreciation for heritage properties.
