Pezula Golf Estate, Knysna

Set deep within indigenous forest and elevated above the lagoon, 6 & 7 Bowsprit offers a rare African sanctuary where architecture and nature exist in perfect harmony. Alongside the double garage with golf cart space is a fully self-contained apartment featuring a kitchenette, full bathroom and Juliet balcony suspended above the treetops with lagoon views. With complete separation between the main home, apartment and cottage, the layout is ideal for hosting guests or for Airbnb and Home Exchange, an arrangement already proven successful. On the main level, double-volume ceilings and extensive glass bring the forest within metres of the living spaces. The open-plan kitchen, with granite counters and a central island, flows to the dining area set on rich Kiaat hardwood floors. Kiaat is used throughout the home's windows, staircases and detailing, adding warmth and authentic African character. The lounge features a natural stone-clad Jetmaster fireplace, creating a welcoming lodge-style atmosphere. Two sets of sliding doors extend the living area outdoors: one onto a deck overlooking an indigenous herb garden, and the other into The Cave, an enclosed courtyard currently used for water filtration and utilities. This flexible space offers excellent potential as a wine cellar, games room or private retreat. A second interior utility room, previously a home gym and microgreen growing space, includes air extraction fans and a reverse osmosis system — ideal for conversion into a wellness studio or creative workspace. Upstairs, a relaxed TV lounge opens onto a wide balcony with superb forest and lagoon views. The main suite is an elevated forest hideaway with wraparound glass and an en-suite bathroom finished in natural stone, complete with large bath, walk-in shower and double vanities. A private deck invites quiet moments among the treetops. A second en-suite bedroom opens to its own view deck, while a third bedroom features a handcrafted Kiaat spiral staircase leading to a loft-style studio with access to the garage. Set on an expansive double stand with an 2,016 m² erf at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac, with only one neighbour and no possibility of further development alongside. The surrounding forest creates a sheltered microclimate, protecting the home year-round. A separate cottage — The Pool House — enhances the property's versatility, with stacking doors opening to the pool terrace and sweeping lagoon views. The fully renovated pool area includes a lap pool, heated spa pool with jets, RGB lighting and a waterfall feature. The cottage offers a compact kitchen and bathroom downstairs and a spacious bedroom upstairs. Additional features: • 8 kW Sunsynk inverter with 20 kWh batteries • 5-stage water filtration system • Reverse osmosis for household use Forest trails, wildlife and complete privacy make this a truly exceptional lifestyle retreat — an African dream brought to life in contemporary comfort.
