Hopefield Rural, Hopefield

A rare 600-hectare West Coast gem offering a unique blend of productive farmland, lifestyle potential, and self-sufficient living.

Located near the world renowned West Coast Fossil Park and within easy reach of Vredenburg, Paternoster and Velddrif, the farm combines rural tranquillity with accessibility to key towns, coastal destinations, and the Swartland wine region.

Currently operating with approximately 1,200 Dohne Merino sheep and 200 hectares of crops (wheat, oats, rye, barley, lupin), the property offers a strong agricultural base. Chalk-rich soils and abundant water from a natural aquifer allows diversification into a nursery, vineyards, flower farming, or other ventures. Positioned at an elevation of 12 to 18 meters above sea level.

The property features a 3-bedroom farmhouse, a separate worker’s home, security and a fully off-grid solar power system.

A railway line running past the farm for produce transport could enhance its commercial potential. Ideal for lifestyle farming, agritourism, or diversified agricultural opportunities.

Rainfall records and soil analysis available on request.

Moveable agricultural stock such as livestock, farm vehicles, implements not included in price but can be negotiated.

The asking price excludes 15% VAT.
