Oranjezicht, Cape Town

Set proudly on a generous 942m² corner plot, this 101-year-old Edwardian residence is more than a home, it’s a legacy. Positioned in the heart of the city, it offers not only an exceptional address, but the chance to become the next custodian of something truly irreplaceable.
Nestled within the leafy, tranquil streets of Oranjezicht, this quiet residential enclave places you between natural splendour and urban convenience, with Table Mountain as your dramatic backdrop and the reservoir on your doorstep.

Steeped in cultural significance, the property was once home to celebrated author Elsa Joubert, internationally recognised for her profound contribution to South Africa, particularly Afrikaans, literature. Its timeless character has also made it a sought-after setting for both local and international film productions.

Inside, the home showcases classic grandeur: soaring double-volume ceilings, expansive windows that flood the interiors with natural light, and rich, dramatic finishes that speak to a bygone era of craftsmanship. Generous entertainment spaces are designed to host with ease and elegance, complemented by domestic accommodation.

As a heritage-protected property, this residence is part of a finite collection—preserved not only for its beauty, but for its place in the city’s narrative. Ownership here is not just about living well; it’s about safeguarding history.
